Senior Project Week 5 Graydon Al-Khafaji

What:

This week I really started to get into the animation side of my project. I usually like to do a very rough blocking for the major poses and then go in for a second round of blocking. This week was just the first round for most shots. Shots 1 and 2 I did a breakdown which was my second pass of everything. I also filmed reference footage for other scenes that I was either animating this week or preparing for next.

 

How: The reference footage was filmed on my phone with a tripod. All animating was done in Maya 2023. Average work per day 5 hours per day.

 

Outlook:

This week things really started to ramp up and I spent a lot of my time working on the blocking. At points I started to worry about balancing my animation with other school work as working over 5 hours a day was restricting. But I learned taking walks listening to podcasts and calling family really helped me avoid burnout and work efficiently. I am excited to keep working!
